The programme aims to prioritise sports clubs, community groups and governing bodies of sport, especially those based on areas of greatest need. In particular the programme will look to contribute to “Promoting Equality, Tackling Poverty and Social Exclusion.”
Who can apply?
Governing Bodies of Sport (recognised by Sport Northern Ireland)
Sport Clubs (must be affiliated to a Governing Body of Sport recognised by Sport Northern Ireland)
Parent Teacher Associations
Eligible groups can apply for grants from £1,000 – £10,000.
The current round of funding will close 12.00 noon 21 March 2014.

Sport Northern Ireland will also be facilitating a number of funding clinics at various locations throughout Northern Ireland to give groups the opportunity to drop in and have a 1-1 chat about the Active Awards for Sport programme.
There is no need to book a place on these clinics; potential applicants will be seen on a first come first serve basis.
