The Northern Ireland Sports Forum (NISF) is seeking a motivated, organised, and proactive individual to join our team. This role is essential in supporting over 100 member organisations, including National Governing Bodies of sport and community-based sporting organisations.
You will play a key part in delivering high-quality administrative, creative, and event support services—helping to strengthen governance, communication, and operational delivery across the sports sector. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the implementation of NISF’s Strategic Plan 2024–2029 and make a positive impact on sport in Northern Ireland.
Job description
the role is an entry-level opportunity that will provide internal administration support and additional support for National Governing Bodies of sport (NGBs) and other sporting organisations, working centrally with the NISF structure.
Responsibilities
- Act as a first point of contact for member bodies and stakeholders, ensuring a helpful and responsive service.
- Manage and process AccessNI checks for member bodies and staff in line with safeguarding requirements.
- Handle day-to-day office tasks including filing, data entry, and correspondence. Maintain accurate records and databases.
- Attend meetings (in person or virtual) and produce clear, timely minutes.
- Provide administrative assistance to member bodies as required. Respond to queries promptly and professionally.
- Prepare and format documents for print and digital publication (reports, newsletters, promotional materials). Support the Executive manager to prepare monthly Members Update and Ezine.
- Assist with obtaining quotes and supporting procurement processes in line with organisational policies.
- Monitor and manage helpdesk enquiries, providing timely and accurate responses.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital tools.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Customer-focused with a proactive approach.
Desirable Skills
- Experience using online administrative or communication platforms such as Jotform or MailChimp.
- Basic graphic design skills (e.g. Canva) to support document and promotional material preparation.
- Social Media and Website skills.
- Extensive Excel or equivalent skills.
Working Hours
This role is supported by the JobStart Scheme:
- Up to 25 hours per week
- Flexible or reduced hours may be available (subject to Work Coach approval)
- Additional hours may be offered depending on employer needs
