The Belfast City Council’s Small Grants Scheme offers several grants specifically for sports and community activities, including the Support for Sport (S4S) Large Development, Small Development, Hospitality, and Sporting Individual Grants. These grants support Belfast-based clubs, groups, or individuals who meet certain criteria, such as affiliation with Sport NI and a local constitution. Eligible uses for funds include hiring qualified coaches, paying facility rental costs, purchasing sports equipment, and supporting community sporting events. The total funding per organisation per year can go up to £1,000, with an additional Equipment Grant available under certain conditions.
Applications for the current tranche are due by 12 noon on January 12, 2024. Belfast City Council is hosting several information sessions on applying for these grants, including one in-person session at City Hall and three virtual sessions via Microsoft Teams in November.
