SPORT AND RECREATION ALLIANCE

S&RA wish to recruit one non-executive Appointed Director, for an initial three-year term, to join their current ten-strong Board of Directors.

In particular, they are looking for a Director who has skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:

•    Marketing, particularly digital and/or social media
•    Public and media relations
•    Commercial and sponsorship
•    Organisational development
•    Legal and risk mitigation

Ideally, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

•    A track record of achievement in the private, public or voluntary sector
•    Ability to think creatively and strategically and to show leadership by stimulating discussion and ideas within Board meetings
•    Experience of working in an environment where partner collaboration has been important to success from a policy level through to implementation
•    A good understanding of the UK’s sport and recreation landscape

Directors’ travel expenses will be paid and  a full induction to the organisation’s work provided. Directors are  expected to attend at least six Board meetings a year, which are normally held at the Alliance’s offices in Westminster, London.

Role Description

The next New Recruits Course, for those wanting to take up active refereeing and join the USRFR, will be held at Ravenhill on Saturday 16th August. The course will run from 09.30-16.30. There is no cost for the course and everything will be provided.
