The purpose of the role will be to lead the provision of the full range of Mountaineering Ireland’s climbing activities, in line with Mountaineering Ireland’s soon to be developed Strategic Plan 2022 – 2025; to grow climbing participation, high performance, climbing skills development, competitions, support talent structures and framework both from the club and individual membership sectors and provide an extensive range of services and supports to all Mountaineering Ireland members and partners.
This role will report to the Chief Executive Officer and will form part of the general staff team structure. The Climbing Development Officer will be a key conduit across all areas of the Mountaineering Ireland business interests – including the Climbing sector but also the Hillwalking, Access & Conservation, Training, Finance and Membership Events.
SALARY: The package will include a salary in the range of €35, 000 to €40,000 per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience, reflective of the not for profit/sports sector. Applicants are asked to indicate their salary expectations at the time of applying.
TENURE: 3 year fixed-term contract (subject to ongoing funding from Mountaineering Ireland funding partners – and renewable upon successful performance).
HOURS: 39 hours (Full-time) – This position will require, at times, irregular and unsocial hours and as such flexible working arrangements are available.
LOCATION: Mountaineering Ireland Head Office, ISHQ, National Sports Campus, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15 and also the ability to work remotely under government guidelines and or under the discretion of the company.
