The Northern Ireland Sports Forum in association with the Law Society NI hosted a very successful sports law conference on Friday 18th October at Law Society House.
With a great turn out of delegates comprising of legal professionals and Governing Bodies of Sport our expert panel of speakers covered a range of areas including Safeguarding, Social Media in Sport, the Commercialisation of Sport and the current legal issues facing sport. We have two presentations from the conference available (i) Social Media in Sport: Andrew Nixon a partner from Sheridans in London, one of the top sports law firms in the UK took a look at the impact of social media on the sports sector and provides some great advice on areas to cover when writing your social media policy to ensure your sport is protected. Available on Request (ii) Safeguarding in Sport: Ed Proctor, Chief Executive of Sports Resolutions UK and Richard Harry also from Sports Resolutions UK spoke to delegates about current Safeguarding issues and their National Safeguarding Panel offering mediation services to Governing Bodies of Sport in the area of Safeguarding.
