The Sports Law Conference NI celebrated its 10th Anniversary at Malone Golf Club on 18th November 2022 with 119 delegates from the sport and legal professions in attendance. The conference is run annually in conjunction between the Law Society Northern Ireland, Northern Ireland Sports Forum and Sports Law NI.
The Honourable Mr Justice Michael Humphreys opened the conference with speakers including Keith McGarry, SLNI, Baroness Tanni-Grey Thompson DBE DL , Iain Braid, Docia Sport and Lady Mary Peters.
Presentations from Jack Anderson, Catherine Pitre & Kylie Brackenridge , Sport Resolutions, and Jonny Madill & Andrew Nixon, Sheridans, preceded a final panel discussion with members from across NI sports including Jan Cunningham, David Humphreys, Feargal Logan, Alison Moffitt-Robinson and Julie Nelson.
During the conference, Keith McGarry was presented with a TeamNI shirt signed by the three NI Gymnasts whom had initially been prevented from competing at Birmingham 2022 before an appeal was upheld and decision overturned, allowing them to compete.
Brigid Napier, President of The Law Society of Northern Ireland closed the conference before lunch.

To have such a breadth of speakers from across the sport and legal professions in one venue has been a great opportunity and we look forward to the conference again next year”
Planning has already begun for the 11th Sports Law Conference in 2023.
