We are currently recruiting for a Women in Sport Officer to join our dynamic team on a maternity cover contract. Expected Start date mid October 2021 – fixed purpose contract to provide cover for Maternity Leave. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivery of the Women in Sport programmes and events.

Roles and responsibilities of the Participation Programmes Officer The role of the Women in Sport Project Officer is to deliver the following initiatives detailed in the 2021 Swim Ireland Women in Sport grant submission and to generally support the delivery of Swim Ireland programmes:

 

Responsibilities

 

Swim for a Mile (SFAM)

  • Develop and deliver an indoor SFAM programme.
  • Develop and deliver an outdoor pool SFAM programme.
  • Develop and deliver a virtual SFAM challenge.

 

Women in Sport (WIS)

·         Deliver the WIS Coaching & Mentoring Programme.

·         Deliver the Swimmin Women programme.

·         Support the delivery of the Women in Sport Leadership programme.

·         Support the delivery of a Water Polo Referee programme

·         WIS Visibility (WIS funding dependent)

·         Women in The Water Week (WIS funding dependent)

 

Stakeholders

·         Establish and maintain links with Local Sports Partnerships, Facility Operators, Community Groups, Schools, Clubs and others as required.

 

Other Duties

·         Set and monitor standards for the delivery of the WIS programmes and events.

·         Produce evaluations of the SFAM events and the WIS programmes.

·         Monitor the budgets for SFAM events and the WIS programmes, ensuring that spend is within allocated budget.

·         Produce regular reports detailing progress against targets.

·         Prepare and present reports to funders.

·         Other duties as requested

Working Hours

Full-time / Part-Time

Full time If Part-time, state specific days / hours per week  
Employment ·         The employee will be employed by Swim Ireland on an initial 7-12 month maternity cover contract.

·         The employee will report to Swim Ireland Head of Participation.

Skills and Qualities Essential Desirable
Qualifications

  • Educated to Degree level or at least 3 years full time employment in a relevant professional environment
  • L2 Teaching Aquatics or Coaching Swimming or recognised equivalent
  • Current and clean drivers’ licence

Experience

  • Some experience of working professionally within the sports or leisure/health industry
  • Experience working in sports development
  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • Experience of setting a project and seeing it through successfully
  • Knowledge and experience in working across a range of aquatic disciplines
