APPOINTMENTS TO THE NATIONAL ANTI-DOPING PANEL

The Sports Dispute Resolution Panel Limited (SDRP) is inviting applications for the posts of President (one position), legally qualified members (ten positions) and specialist members with experience in high performance sport, sports medicine or sports science (six positions) for the new National Anti-Doping Panel.

The National Anti-Doping Panel (NADP) is due to be operational from April 2008. The Sports Dispute Resolution Panel will set up and operate the service entirely independently of UK Sport. Cases arising under the World Anti-Doping Code compliant rules of a National Governing Body will be heard and determined by the NADP, which will operate under its own rules of procedure.

PRESIDENT – One position (ref:NADP/P)

£10,000 per annum. One year renewable contract

As President you will act as the judicial head of the NADP, working in partnership with the Secretariat of the Sports Dispute Resolution Panel to provide good quality justice and a responsive and efficient tribunal administration service.

You will be a leading figure in Sports Law in the United Kingdom with President or Chair experience in a relevant public, private or voluntary sector body. You will be a Solicitor or Barrister of seven years standing, with at least two years judicial experience, recent and extensive experience of chairing tribunals and/or appearing before them. Knowledge and understanding of anti-doping in sport is essential as is independence from UK Sport and National Governing Bodies. Closing date: 22 November 2007

LEGAL MEMBERS – Ten positions (ref:NADP/L)

£10,000 fixed fee per annum. Three year renewable contract

As a Legal Member you will sit on up to five tribunals per annum, either alone or as Chair of a panel of three, to hear and determine anti-doping cases.

You will be a Solicitor or Barrister of seven years standing, with judicial experience, recent and extensive experience of chairing tribunals and/or appearing before them. Knowledge and understanding of anti-doping in sport is essential as is independence from UK Sport and National Governing Bodies. Closing Date: 7 December 2007

SPECIALIST MEMBERS: – Six positions(ref NADP/S)

£4,000 fixed fee per annum. Three year renewable contract

As a Specialist Member you will sit on up to five tribunals per annum as part of a panel of three, to provide specialist knowledge in either high performance sport, sports medicine or sports science. You will either have a nationally recognised qualification requiring expertise in anti-doping (including but not restricted to, chemistry, medical and physiological qualifications) or ten years involvement at a national level in high performance sport as a past or present administrator, competitor, coach or official. You must have experience of sitting as a member of or independent advisor to tribunals and have knowledge and experience of anti-doping in sport and be independent of UK Sport and Governing Bodies.
