The NISF in conjunction with Ulster University Business School and Laurentian University, Canada (see facilitator details below) will be hosting a FREE ‘Improving the Value of Your Social Media’ workshop on Monday 10th October 2016 from 6-9pm at the House of Sport, Belfast.
The workshop is designed to be as ‘hands-on’ (bring a laptop) and practical as possible and will improve your Social Media activities. It will be informed by research and experiences from across a wide range of sports with the aim of developing the content and value of your Social media activities.

The Director of the Institute for Sport Marketing and Associate Professor in the School of Sports Administration at Laurentian University, Dr. Pegoraro has become one of the leading researchers in social media and sport and has published on the use of social media by sport organizations, athletes and fans alike. Media outlets and industry often seek out Dr. Pegoraro to speak about social media and sport and share her knowledge. Most recently she has been working with the Canadian Olympic Committee to help build social media capacity throughout the National Sport Federations in Canada.

Dr. Gallagher was the 2013-14 Fulbright Northern Ireland Public Affairs Scholar based at the University of South Carolina’s Department of Sport and Entertainment Management where his research explored the marketing management and strategic development of Minor league sports in the US. His teaching and research interests are in research methodologies, small business marketing and the marketing of small/semi-professional sports clubs. He has published widely in leading marketing and small business journals. He is the current External Examiner at the University of Portsmouth Business School and the University of the West of England (Bristol). He is the current Chair of the Academy of Marketing Sports & Events Marketing Special Interest Group – the leading UK body for marketing researchers, educators and professionals.
