The Code of Good Governance which was first introduced by the Developing Governance Group in 2008 is a key piece of work in developing standards of good governance in the voluntary and community sector. It sets out principles and practices of good governance in an organisation, regardless of size, and as such, organisations have been using the Code as a tool to develop and/or maintain good governance within their organisations.
On a review of the Code of Good Governance’s healthcheck and the diycommitteeguide, the Developing Governance Group recognised that there was some overlap with the principles and sub-principles in the Code and undertook a review of the principles in the Code. A revised Code of Governance was consulted on prior to the summer of 2014 and funding has been secured by Awards for All and Lloyds Bank Foundation NI for the production of the revised Code and an up to date accessible online governance resource.
You are invited to come along and hear how you will be able to use these revised resources in assessing or developing good governance practice in your organisation. Please register by emailing cathy.breslin@nicva.org or calling Cathy in NICVA on 9087 7777.
