Mountaineering Ireland is recruiting for the position of Communications Officer. This newly created role will report to the Chief Executive Officer and will form part of the general staff team structure.
The purpose of the role will be to lead the provision of the full range of Mountaineering Ireland’s communications and marketing functions including all digital, social and traditional media, supporting Mountaineering Ireland quarterly membership publication – the Irish Mountain Log, the Mountaineering Ireland brand, the Mountaineering Ireland website and marketing activities to ultimately ensure Mountaineering Ireland’s members, stakeholders, funders and sponsors are engaged, informed and valued.
To succeed in this role, the successful candidate must have excellent marketing ability and commercial acumen, well-developed problem-solving skills, and interpersonal and written communication skills of the highest order. They will have a can-do attitude and ability to manage numerous projects at once, a strong work ethic and will be a team player and ability to work on own initiative as well as in a small, dedicated staff team.
