National Family Week would like sports clubs and Governing Bodies to support this campaign and join with hundreds of otherorganisations in promoting the Week through their networks and consider hosting a Family Week Sports Day or activity during National Family Week.
National Family Week aims to highlight the important role families play in society and encourage healthy active lifestyles and quality family time. It is the largest coalition on family issues and is backed by all major political parties and a huge range of national charities, local authorities, community groups and sporting associations.
The inaugural National Family Week which took place between the 25th and 31st May this year saw over 4,000 events happening across the country and received a considerable level of media attention appearing in a number of national and hundreds of regional new spapers plus on national and regional TV and radio.
National Family Week 2010 is to run between the 31st May and 6th June, with the Family Week Sports Day taking place on Saturday 5 June, and aims to be even bigger and better, engaging with thousands more families.
Why not be a part of it and run your own Family Week Sports Day or activity of your choice, giving families in your community the opportunity to learn about and enjoy playing sports together, encouraging a more active lifestyle and also giving you the opportunity to promote your services to families. It is a great opportunity to run a community-focused event, whilst tying in with your objectives – whether a fundraiser for your club or a charity of your choice, to generate ticket sales for the following season, or to encourage grassroots sports.
For the larger events, it is possible you could become one of our flagship events for Northern Ireland where we would provide support in a number of ways including PR support, promotional materials for marketing and encouraging our celebrity supporters to attend.
