Sporting Insight Conference
Monday 14th March @ Girdwood Community Hub, Belfast- 9am-2pm
The Northern Ireland Sports Forum in partnership with the Female Sports Forum, Sport Northern Ireland and Ulster University will be hosting a Sporting Insight Seminar for women and girls in sport.
The Female Sports Forum is committed to ensuring all females are given the opportunity to take part in sport and physical activity. We want to raise the profile of female sport, empowering them to make the choice to be active, in an activity of their choosing and for females to be given their rightful place in the sporting world alongside their male counterparts.
Supported by the NI Executive’s ‘Together Building a United Community’ Strategy this seminar aims to showcase best practice in the the four key areas identified by our stakeholders:
1. Media
2. Leadership
3. Role Models
4. Research & Evaluation
The seminar will also see the launch of the Women and Girls: Active, Fit and Sporty Pledge – designed to seek the support of District Councils, Governing Bodies of Sport, Sports Clubs, Community and Voluntary Organisations, Universities, Further Education and Higher Education Colleges, Schools and individuals who can directly or indirectly influence female participation in sport and physical activity in Northern Ireland.
The Conference is FREE and includes refreshments throughout the day and lunch.
