The Northern Ireland Sports Forum is now registered as an umbrella body with the authority to submit Safeguarding checks with Access NI.

We are rolling out this service to members who may have been affected by the recent changes regarding Umbrella bodies and the minimum requirement to carry out at least 20 checks per annum.

Any member wishing to use this service must be a fully subscribed member of the Northern Ireland Sports Forum. If you are not sure whether you are or not please contact Katie Nixon at or call 028 90383825.

All members wishing to submit an Access NI check for a volunteer or coach will need to download and complete the attached Service Level Agreement (please see the link in the download box) which outlines both the Northern Ireland Sports Forum’s role and responsibilities and those of the Governing Body member. They will also need to get the individual being checked to complete the NI Enhanced Disclosure Form with Barred List Check

Only Access NI forms that have been returned with a signed and dated Service Level Agreement along with a completed ID Validation form (Appendix 1 on the Service Level Agreement document) will be processed.

A fee of £5 will be charged to cover postal and administration costs which will need to be made payable to the Northern Ireland Sports Forum. For paid members of staff the cost will be £35 which will cover the Access NI fee and the postal and administration cost.
