Irish FA – Head of Refereeing

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of Refereeing will lead the Refereeing Department in the delivery of key strategic objectives including the identification and implementation of an appropriate Video Assistance Referee solution and the continued enhancement of performance standards of domestic referees. They will also create and embed a framework for the mentoring, coaching and development of match officials including career pathways for those with high potential. The Head of Refereeing will also be key in ensuring a step change in the rate of recruitment of new officials coming into the game and ensure longevity in their retention.

The successful candidate will have at least five years’ experience of refereeing at national elite level. They will also have at least three years’ relevant experience in the area of managing and developing people, preferably in the field of sport working with match officials.
