Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council – Training Courses for Sports Clubs & Coaches

There are a number of diverse, beneficial courses being delivered during the remainder of January & February that would be valuable for Governing Body/Sport Club Members.

Next course in the calendar is the Fuelling Performance in Sport on Monday 23rd January (online from 7-9pm). Listen to our Nutrition expert Sharon Madigan to give you a better understanding of how fuelling the body properly can enhance sporting performance.

First Aid in Sport on Monday January 30th at Lough Moss Leisure Centre, Carryduff – 6:30pm – 10pm

Strength & Conditioning on Monday 6th February  starting at 7:00pm in the Derriaghy Room in Lagan Valley Leisureplex and Gym.

The course is facilitated by Mike McGurn who will teach you the training secrets developed by him to help some of the world’s top athletes run faster, jump higher, and tackle harder – including the Irish National Rugby Team, St. Helens Rugby Team, Hull City FC, Everton FC, New Zealand “All Blacks”, World Champion Boxer Bernard Dunne, Man Utd FC, the Irish International Rules Team, Northern Ireland Ladies Senior Football Team and the  Ospreys Rugby Union Team.

Sports Mind-Set Masterclass on Wednesday 15th February (online from 7-9:30pm). Listen to our Sports Psychology expert  Kieran Devlin talk about the mental side of sport and how understanding what type of a learner your athlete/player is can help you manage them to their potential.

As you can see there is a wide variety of useful and required courses on offer at a subsidised cost whether the member of your club is an athlete, coach or administrator.
