Rates Relief for Community Amateur Sports Clubs Bill Committee Stage – Call for Evidence

The Northern Ireland Assembly Committee for Finance and Personnel is expecting that the Rates (Relief for Community Amateur Sports Clubs) Bill will soon be referred for its formal Committee Stage.

The Bill amends the Rates (Northern Ireland) Order 1977 to make provision for relief from non-domestic rates for registered community amateur sports clubs. It will increase the level of rate relief available to registered community amateur sports clubs from 80% to 100%, thereby exempting these clubs from paying rates.

In anticipation of Committee Stage, any organisation or individuals who may have an interest in the proposed Bill is invited to submit written evidence to the Committee by email to:

committee.financepersonnel@niassembly.gov.uk

or by post to:

Committee Clerk, Room 144,
Parliament Buildings,
Ballymiscaw,

The evidence must be structured to address the specific clauses of the Bill and, if appropriate, should include any amendments you wish to propose to the text.

Please note that evidence received on the Bill to date is available here.

Organisations or individuals responding to this call for evidence will wish to note that their submission (either in whole or part) may be published on the Committee website.

If you do not have access to the internet or email facilities or you have any other enquiries, please contact the Committee Clerk on 028 9052 1843.

The closing date for submissions is Wednesday, 2 September 2015.
