The UK Sports Councils Recognition Policy has been reviewed resulting in amendments to the policy and the recognition review process.
The review process took into consideration lessons learnt through the implementation of the policy since 2010 and also the piloting of the recognition review process involving several governing bodies across Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK.
Sport Northern Ireland in partnership with the Northern Ireland Sports Forum would like to invite you to an Information Session as follows:
7.00pm
Thursday 11 September
House of Sport, Belfast
Areas covered in the session will be:
- An introduction to the new policy – what has changed?
- The proposed ‘self-submission’ process for recognition review.
- Support available to governing bodies to ensure continued attainment of recognition criteria.
The session will be delivered by Marc Scott (Sport Northern Ireland representative on the UK Sports Council’s Recognition Panel) and Ciaran Kearney (Executive Manager Northern Ireland Sports Forum) and will provide an opportunity for your organisation to ask any questions around the policy, provide feedback on the proposed self-submission process for reviewing governing bodies. It will also provide an opportunity to meet with Ciaran and discuss ways in which the Northern Ireland Sports Forum can assist with building the structures and leadership in your organisation.
