About the Awards
The Eastside Awards is an exciting new initiative aimed at highlighting and celebrating all that is good about East Belfast, whilst showcasing the contributions being made to the economic, social and community development of the area.
There are 12 categories for which entries/nominations are being sought, from those who are based in or operating in the broad East Belfast area. Individuals, organisations and businesses are asked to demonstrate, through a simple written application process, their achievements/contributions in their chosen category/categories. Entries close at 5pm on Wednesday 23rd November 2016.
A panel of respected individuals from the private, public and community sectors will judge the submissions and will select the finalists, using the criteria set out for each category.
Finalists will be announced early/ mid December 2016 and it is likely that there will be a maximum of three finalists per category.
The award winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony, which will take place on Thursday 26th January 2017 at Hastings Stormont Hotel. Each finalist will receive two complimentary tickets to attend the event and tickets are also available for purchase. For more information on buying tickets please go to The Awards Event page.
Who is running the Eastside Awards?
The Eastside Awards is being organised by a small voluntary committee, chaired by East Belfast Enterprise and comprising members of the business and community sectors. The organising committee is made up as follows:

The activity is being funded through sponsorship support from local organisations and the initiative is being financed on a not-for-profit basis, with all monies generated being used to run the event.
The Awards Categories
There are 12 categories for which entries/nominations are being sought, from those who are based in or operating in the broad East Belfast area (including Holywood Exchange, Dundonald, Ravenhill, Forestside and Titanic Quarter). Individuals, organisations and businesses are asked to demonstrate, through a simple written application process, their achievements/contributions in their chosen category/categories.

Entering is very straight forward – simply download the entry form, save it, complete it with the details of your entry and then email it to email@example.com
It is important for entrants to look at the criteria carefully and to provide as much evidence as possible to help the judges appreciate the achievements as fully as they can.
Entries for more than one category are welcomed, provided that the criteria for each are met. Each category has a unique entry form so the appropriate official entry form for each category must be submitted and a separate entry for each entry must be received. Only information contained on the official entry form can be judged.

Please complete the entry form and return it by email to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than 5pm on Wednesday 23rd November 2016.
All text should be entered in Arial Font Size 11, single line spacing.
Some of the boxes on the form have purposely been set at a pre-defined height. Please do not adjust these heights as they define the maximum permitted amount of text within each section.
Optional visual supporting material/imagery eg photographs, images of printed material, graphs may be supplied on the two pages of appendices, which follow the four page entry form. Please note that no hard copies will be accepted and only those submitted at the time of entry will be considered.
Remember, the judges can only base their assessment on the information provided on the entry form so please do make sure you include all relevant information to assist them in the judging process. The judges’ decision will be final.
We recommend that you save your entry form at regular intervals whilst you are completing it. We also suggest that you return your entry in pdf format as this will minimise the risk of distortion of the layout in which you have presented it. If you have supplied photographs/images in the appendices, saving it as a pdf when it is complete will also reduce the size of the file which is to be emailed.

The Awards Event
The Award Winners will be announced at a glittering celebration, which will take place on Thursday 26th January 2017 at Hastings Stormont Hotel.
The provisional outline schedule for the evening is as follows:
7.00pm Drinks Reception
7.30pm Call For Dinner
7.45pm Welcome, Dinner and Entertainment
10.30pm Awards Presentation
11.30pm Formalities Over
1.00am Event Close
The dress code is BLACK TIE.
Tickets will be available for purchase at a price of £45+ VAT, making a total of £54 per ticket.
The ticket price includes a welcome drink, a three-course meal and entertainment.

Please identify at the time of purchase if you wish the guests for whom tickets are being purchased to be seated with a particular finalist or other group attending.
Note – all finalists will be allocated with two complimentary places at the event but any additional tickets for guests, family or staff will need to be purchased.
