Triathlon Ireland are seeking candidates for Independent Board Director (Participation and Engagement)

Triathlon Ireland (TI) is the national governing body for the sport of Triathlon, Duathlon and Aquathlon in Ireland, affiliated to the World Triathlon (WT) and the European Triathlon (ET).

Our primary responsibility is the development, promotion and safeguarding of the sport of triathlon in Ireland. We do this, in collaboration with our network of strong affiliated clubs, through the sanctioning of triathlon related events throughout Ireland; and through developing systems and structures for athletes of all levels from novice to elite to participate in the sport.

Triathlon Ireland has a voluntary Board who employ a Chief Executive Officer, who in turn  manages a team of professional staff.

Person Specification

Applicants for the position of Ordinary Director of Triathlon Ireland should meet the following person specification.

Experience in overseeing the development and implementation of participation initiatives in a large sports organisation or National Governing Body.

Experience in developing partnerships and programmes in Sport and Physical Activity with community and industry engagements that benefit individuals, sporting organisations, communities and industry.

Experience of promoting mass participation and community engagement that encourage diversity and inclusion.

Experience in overseeing youth engagement initiatives. Previous Board experience in a regional or national sports organisation is desirable.
